Mr. Sean Collins Global Chairman, KPMG Communications & Media Practice
Sean is a highly experienced audit and advisory partner based in Singapore. He is Chairman of KPMG's Global Communications and Media Practice and also Head of Markets for Asia Pacific. He is also responsible for the direction of KPMG strategy in Emerging Markets.
After beginning his career in London, Sean was a partner in Kuala Lumpur from 1985 to 1989, after which he was a partner in London from 1989-2009 where he had specific responsibility for a number of major clients including ITV, Cable & Wireless, Sony-BMG, Bertelsmann, Telefonica O2, British Telecommunications, Telewest, Millennium & Copthorne, P&O, Standard Chartered, Reuters and Universal Music.
His role as lead partner for these major clients involved dealing with Boards, Audit Committees and senior financial management on a variety of matters including complex financial reporting under IFRS and US GAAP and corporate governance issues. He has led major Internal Audit and compliance assignments for major telecommunication companies.
He has led a number of major assignments for companies in such areas as financial management consulting, mergers and acquisitions, bid defence, acquisitions and disposals, flotations, profit and cash forecasts and new investments, both in the UK and internationally in more than 20 countries.
In his role as Chairman of KPMG's Global Communications and Media practice, he provides support and direction to the KPMG teams providing audit and non-audit services to a number of KPMG's major clients including telecommunications accounts such as British Telecommunications, AT&T, Telstra, Verizon, Telus, Vodafone, NTT DoCoMo, China Mobile and Deutsche Telekom.
Sean is a frequent speaker on Communications Industry matters and is a Media Industry Advisor to the World Economic Forum. He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a MA degree in Classics. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Prior to joining C-DOT, he has worked with Digital Equipment Corporation. He is B.E (Electrical) and M.S (Computer Science).
